eMotorWerks partnered with Xcel Energy to support their two-year electric vehicle pilot program in Minnesota and provide JuiceBox residential EV charging stations. This way the utility aims to better prepare the regional grids for the expected increased electric demand created by charging electric cars.
With JuiceBox Pro 40, Xcel Energy customers will save money by avoiding the need to install a second electric meter at their homes otherwise required to track EV charging electric usage. EV drivers will also receive lower charging rates with Xcel Energy’s new pricing plan, if they charge their car overnight. eMotorWerks’ JuiceNet software platform enables grid operators to integrate low-cost renewable electricity into the EV charging electricity supply, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and make the grid more flexible and stable.
