Val Miftakhov is the Founder of eMotorWerks. Over the last dozen years, Val held executive business strategy & operations positions at Google, McKinsey & Company, and Nielsen. He also launched and managed three startup companies, in all of which he held the CTO position. Prior to his industry experience, Val was a high energy physics researcher at Stanford Linear Accelerator, a Department of Energy facility. Val received his PhD in Physics from Princeton University and his MS in Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He was a two-time winner of the Nationwide Russian Physics Competitions. In whatever spare time he gets, Val tries to get good use out of his airplane and helicopter pilot licenses.

Dr. Schachter drives the grid-facing business and products of eMotorWerks, including development of the algorithms that power JuiceNet. In his previous role as Senior Advisor & Entrepreneur in Residence at Engie, he was responsible for designing disruptive large-scale business models in the distributed energy resources and digital arenas. In his role as VP R&D at Total New Energies, he designed the company’s technology roadmap, hired the teams and built a network of collaborations with startups and academic labs that helped Total/Sunpower improve PV module performance, increase energy services delivery and accelerate revenue growth. Before entering the energy industry, he led computational biology research and software development in startups and academia, founding a computational biology lab at the leading French technology research organization and leading bioinformatics at the French national genome center. He co-founded Hybrigenics, the first biotechnology spin-off from the Pasteur Institute. Dr. Schachter received his Ph.D. in computer science from École Normale Supérieure in Paris.

Sergey Kiselev co-leads eMotorWerks’ European business. Sergey joined the company after 10 years at McKinsey, where he led strategic projects for clients in renewable energy, storage and emobility. He led the opening of a new McKinsey office in Kazakhstan and helped scale its operations. Prior to his career in strategy consulting, Sergey worked at Hitachi Global Storage Technology group located in Silicon Valley, performing R&D in nanomagnetics. His R&D work continued his PhD and postdoctoral work in experimental physics at Cornell University. Daniel Feldman is a seasoned technologist, with more than two decades of business and product management expertise. At eMotorWerks, Feldman leads global product design and engineering teams for the Juice asset management, app, and hardware product lines. He’s brought astute optimization best practices to generate efficiency and drive cost-effective solutions. Before joining eMotorWerks, Feldman held leadership roles at Microsemi, where he most recently led business development, channel and outbound marketing before its sale to Microchip. Previously, he led management of PoE Switches, injectors and solar bypass devices. In 2004, he began his career in product management for power over ethernet integrated circuits and boards at PowerDsine (PDSN) when it went public, and was later acquired by Microsemi. He’s also worked at NICE Systems on integrated circuits, specifically, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and RAFAEL, where he worked on software and chip design.
